Rochester is New York’s third largest city with over 200,000 residents. Locals enjoy the college-town vibe and a cost of living that is roughly 17% lower than the national average (33% lower than New York’s average). Rochester’s expressway system, conceived in the 1950s, was designed as two concentric circles with feeder expressways from the west, south and east. The system allows for quick travel within the metropolitan area and a lack of the traffic gridlock typically found in cities of comparable size. Unfortunately, the expressway construction was not completed due to political conflicts. Currently, the Inner Loop East Transformation Project is in development and is scheduled to be completed in late 2017. This will help connect the east and west sections of the city, as well as ease the tremendous traffic congestion. In a city this size though, it is still important to examine all the options for cheap car insurance Rochester has available.
