About Diamond Bar
Like many cities in California, Diamond Bar was first settled by owners of Mexican land grants. One of the first owners registered the Brand of Diamond Bar with the California Department of Agriculture in 1918. The area went through many different changes of ownership and was divided up into multiple ranches. Most of the land was used to raise cattle, until the area was taken over by the United States government. In the 1950s the Transamerica Corporation purchased the largest working cattle ranch, the Diamond Bar Ranch, and began developing one of the first master-planned communities. They built the first community in 1960 and used the diamond bar cattle brand in differnt logos and ads, and the brand is still used today. The City of Diamond Bar was incorporated on April 18, 198, and is now primarily residential with shopping centers throughout the city.
